To receive active listening and/or resources, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and their families can schedule an (on the phone or in-person) appointment with an intervention worker.

In l'astérisk, there is always a collection of diverse pamphlets, zines, resource posters, books, flyers of interesting events or opportunities, etc. that the youth can look through and take copies of when visiting for an activity or an appointment.

 Affirming prosthesis and accessories  

Project 10 and Jeunesse Lambda offer affirming prosthesis and accessories (like, chest binders, gaffes, various prosthesis, ...) at accommodating prices to 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. To schedule an appointment to see the items we offer and to order, contact:

 The clothing exchange 

When you come visit l'astérisk for an activity or an appointment, you are welcome to check-out our clothing exchange. It is a large open concept closet always filled with various clothes and accessories to look through, try out or take home!

We know that it can be hard for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks to explore their style without judgement or stressing their their wallets. As a safe(r) space, we want to offer a space where 2SLGBTQIA+ youth are invited to share and explore their personal and professional style (even if just for a moment!) amongst supportive peers.

L'astérisk takes part in coordinating Jeune Queer Youth a pogram that offer grants for sexual and community wellness education projects by and for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. The youth leading projects are guided by a mentor in the design and development of their project.

 Discussion evenings for teens by Project 10 

Tuesdays from 5 pm to 8 pm, a discussion evening is organised by Project 10 for 2SLGBTQIA+ teens (ages 14 to 17 years old) where they can meet other teens and play games as well as take part in discussions on a variety of engaging topics.

 Discussion evenings by Neuro/Diversities 

Wednesdays from 6 pm to 9 pm, a discussion evening is organised by the group Neuro/Diversities. 

Neuro/Diversities is a project of AlterHéros that aims to create a space for neurodiverses 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 14 to 30 years old. It's a space where these youth can discuss their needs and their perspectives around their wellbeing. Here is their webpage to learn more about the program

 Afternoon Hangouts by Projet 10 

 Dinner-discussion evenings by Jeunesse Lambda 

Thursdays from 1pm to 6 pm, Project 10 organises un-structured afternoons where 2SLGBTQIA+ youth can (amongst many other options): charge their phones, use our WI-FI, meet the Project 10 team, visit the clothing exchange, play with our boardgames, craft, relax, work on a project or homework, ... Hangout without an appointment necessary!

Fridays from 6 pm to 9 pm, Jeunesse Lambda facilitates discussion nights where a supper prepared by their welcoming team is served. These discussions are based around subjects that encourage support and break the isolation of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. 

Jeunesse Lambda also organises special events: film projections, cooking workshops, camping, improv nights, video game nights and more. Check out the calendar or JL's social media to learn more.

 

 Full Circle workshops 

Full Circle is a programming of creative skill-sharing workshops for 2SLGBTQIA+ racialized youth.

This program is currently on break!

Welcoming meals by l'astérisk 

New activity launching in 2020! This activity invites youth who want to discover l’astérisk and share their feedback to a brunch or dinner where they can share  their ideas for activities, resources they’d like to see and more to better adapt the space to the participants current needs.

When l'astérisk is not pumping with an activity or service, the shared spaces can be used by

LGBTQ+ youth groups for their meetings and their activities. This service is offered for free

(donation or service exchange suggested).

To make a request, read and fill the PDF form below. Then, send it to lasterisk@coalitionjeunesse.org at least two weeks before the date requested.
